About Me
“I believe in meeting people where they are—helping them see how science can strengthen the lands, waters, and communities they love. My work is rooted in trust, collaboration, and a steady commitment to creating solutions that last.”
For nearly three decades, I’ve worked at the intersection of agriculture and natural resources—partnering with universities, institutes, and nonprofits that serve private lands and the people who steward them. My role is to turn sound science into practical, nature-based solutions for working landscapes.
I’ve led efforts in habitat restoration, wildlife conservation, soil health, rangeland recovery, beef cattle systems, and regenerative agriculture. My focus is building programs that carry proven science from research to the pasture, field, and watershed.
I founded For Science Sake after years of seeing a gap between research and real-world results. Partners asked for broader professional development, stronger program design, and a competitive grant strategy. Today, I help teams strengthen skills, design effective programs, assess impact, and secure funding—so your group can achieve mission-aligned, measurable results for our land, water, and shared future.

My Mission
My mission is to connect people, science, and strategy in ways that strengthen land and water stewardship, honor shared values, and build resilient landscapes. I am dedicated to creating solutions that not only restore ecosystems but also empower people to work together with trust, clarity, and purpose for lasting impact.
My Values
Stewardship – I believe in caring for land and water as both a responsibility and a legacy.
Collaboration – I know lasting solutions come when many voices work together with respect and trust.
Clarity – I value turning complex science into strategies people can understand and act on.
Integrity – I lead with honesty, accountability, and a long-term commitment to what’s right.
Resilience – I embrace change and challenge as opportunities to build stronger communities and ecosystems.

As a private landowner, I put my learning to work every day—and I’ll admit I’ve learned more from farmers and ranchers than from any textbook. I hold a B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences and an M.S. in Rangeland Ecology and Management, both from Texas A&M University (when it’s right, you do it twice). I’ve raised human kids and hooved kids, and my career has centered on public service and championing private lands and their stewards.
